PIGSHOT Maps Guide: Arena Voting and Movement Tips

Which Maps Can You Play in PIGSHOT?

Get to a weapon crate before you chase another pig. This PIGSHOT maps guide covers arena voting, weapon pickups, and movement so you can spend less time scrambling without a gun. PIGSHOT features castle, desert ruin, and shipping dock settings, with players voting on the arena before fighting.

Map selection matters because you need to navigate while collecting weapons and dodging opponents. Matches go to the first side to win 3 rounds, so use each round to learn a route you can put to work in the next.

When voting, choose a familiar arena if you want to practice your opening movement. Pick a different setting when you want to learn another battlefield. Keep your attention on the playable routes and weapon access rather than choosing by appearance alone.

New maps have already been part of PIGSHOT’s early updates: the October 19–24 update included maps and guns, and October 31 brought another map. More maps, weapons, and cosmetics are planned.

Plan Your Opening Around Weapon Crates

Weapon crates are central to arena combat. You can begin a round without a gun, and another pig can grab a weapon from a crate you opened. Reaching the box is only part of the job: you still need to collect the weapon.

PIGSHOT — Plan Your Opening Around Weapon Crates

Build your opening around these priorities:

  • Find a crate before committing to a fight. Avoid chasing an armed opponent while you are still searching for a pickup.
  • Watch the weapon after opening the crate. Stay focused on collecting it before someone else reaches it.
  • Change direction when a pickup is heavily contested. Look for another crate instead of running straight into enemy fire.
  • Watch your ammunition during a chase. Break away to find another weapon when you run dry.

Adapt your route to the weapon you collect. With a shotgun, look for an opportunity to close the distance; against an enemy shotgun, keep your distance instead of following them into a close fight.

Use Movement Without Throwing Yourself Off the Map

PIGSHOT gives your pig a grappling hook, double jump, flip, and slide. Use those tools to change position while searching for crates or escaping a dangerous weapon matchup.

On PC, Space handles jumping, C triggers a slide, and the left mouse button fires your weapon. The tutorial asks you to eliminate 3 enemies. Complete it to reach the lobby with its menus and options unlocked.

Practice reaching a clear landing spot with your grapple before trying to shoot throughout the swing. Add jumps and slides as you become comfortable moving between pickups. Keep a destination in mind instead of using every movement option at once.

Leave room between yourself and an exposed edge. Falls can end a round, and knockback can send you off the arena. When an opponent has an explosive weapon, move toward more secure footing before returning fire.

Keep your camera on the intended interaction, too. Accidentally selecting a nearby traversal object while trying to open a crate can disrupt your escape.

Coordinate Routes in Team Matches

PIGSHOT includes 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 matches. In team fights, leave space for teammates to move and fire; crowding the same route can turn a scramble for weapons into a traffic jam.

Call out when you are unarmed so teammates know you need a pickup. Once equipped, move into a position where you can help without standing directly in their firing line.

When a teammate is under pressure, check your weapon and ammunition before rushing over. Arrive ready to fight, and keep an escape route available if the opposing team controls the nearby crates.
